GP Overlay For iOS!

Current State of iOS GP Overlay

Since the dawn of GP Overlay (about a year ago), I’ve gotten countless suggestions to create an iOS version. I’ve put off this major project because of the sheer undertaking of such a feat. I don’t know 100% exactly how people see mobile applications, but I know that before I became a professional developer, I assumed that both android and iOS apps were interchangeable. In that, if you create an iOS app you automatically have an android compatible app. This is of course not the case. Android and iOS apps are so completely incompatible and not interchangeable that the language used to create an app on either platform is different. What this means is that I would have to maintain both iOS and Android versions separately. Both with their bugs and performance issues. But after 1 year I’ve decided that I’ll take on the challenge.
Another interesting difference between Android and iOS development is that some features may be completely impossible on one but completely feasible on another, especially with an application like GP Overlay. More specifically I’m talking about External Mode. This feature is completely impossible on an iOS device (unless maybe by jailbreaking the device). So on version 1.0 of GP Overlay for iOS I’ll try my best to implement every feature of the android version but do expect major changes.
